Saxon Culture in Transylvania
Transylvania is one of the most mysterious regions of Romania. It has a unique history which makes out of it one of the most interesting places to visit. One can find everything here,from nature to history, culture or tradition (even pre-christine).

The Saxons arrived in Transilvania in the 11th century. They established an amazing culture, which unfortunately fades away with the passage of time. The famous fortified churches, the Saxon fortresses, their beautiful cities are all places that must be visited. Come and see these interesting places and sites before the today’s civilisation destroy their charm.

DAY 1 First day in Romania
Arrival in Bucharest. Dinner and accommodation at a 4* Hotel.

DAY 2 On the way to Transylvania
After breakfast departure to Sibiu. On the way, visit to the Dracula fortress of Poenari if time and weather conditions permit. Lunch on the way. Arrival to Sibiu in the afternoon, sightseeing Sibiu, dinner and accommodation in a 3* Hotel.

DAY 3 First day in Transylvania

Departure to Sighisoara. On the way we shall visit the Margaret Church at Medias, with its beautifully painted altar. Lunch on the way. In the afternoon we will visit Biertan and arrive to Sighisoara - one of the most beautiful medieval cities of Eastern Europe. Dinner and accommodation at a 3* Hotel in the citadel

DAY 4 Sighisoara and its surroundings

We shall visit Sighisoara, have lunch in the citadel and in the afternoon go on a small trip in the surrounding area to visit Viscri (WeissKirch) a citadel which is now nanced by King Charles. Dinner and accommodation in the same location

DAY 5 Departure to Brasov
Through Agnita, we leave for Brasov, visiting on the way some old Saxon places such as Cincu, Schoarsch etc. Lunch. Dinner and accommodation at a 4* Hotel in Brasov or near Brasov.

DAY 6 Brasov and surroundings

We will visit Brasov and the most important Saxon cities nearby such as Prejmer with their outstanding fortied churches, the Rasnov citadel, the Bran Castle, famous now as Dracula Castle. Lunch with the Saxon priest from Prejmer or near the Dracula Castle. Special dinner with classical music in Brasov. Accommodation at the same Hotel.

DAY 7 Drive to Bucharest

Through Prahova Valley and Sinaia, where we shall visit the most beautiful castle of Eastern Europe, Peles Castle, and have lunch in a specic Restaurant near by. Arrival to Bucharest in the afternoon and accommodation at a 4* Hotel downtown. Dinner in a fancy restaurant, representative for the golden age of Bucharest, the 1930’s.

DAY 8 Departure day

City tour of Bucharest where we can visit the Palace of Parliament (former Palace of Socialism during Ceausescu’s dictatorship - second biggest building in the world after the Pentagon), the Patriarchal Church, Village Museum etc. Departure back home in the afternoon

• typical lunches or dinners
• entrance fees to museums and churches
1. The price is calculated for a group of minimum 15 guests due to the bad state of some of the roads that make certain citadels inaccessible by bus.
The trip can also be organized for groups of less than 10 guests but the price will change
