This trip is suitable for those who want to see the most of cultural things in Bulgaria and have also interest in Danube Delta. For those interested only in Danube Delta they should simply cut the Bulgarian part and enjoy the 4 days (3 nights) Danube Delta excursion, or may be longer
If one will book this trip at the beginning of June , they will have the chance to see the valley of roses exactly at harvest time, a unique chance for everybody.
Day 1 Thursday: Arrival in Bucharest.
Transfer to your 3*+ Hotel in Bucharest, welcome cocktail, and dinner.
Day 2 Friday: Bucharest - Giurgiu - Russe - Veliko Tirnovo, over Danube (220 km)
Departure in the morning to Veliko Tirnovo. Before arrival in the old medieval city we stop and visit the most beautiful orthodox church in Bulgaria, with incredible inside paintings. Traditional lunch nearby the church, and afternoon we arrive in the city of Veliko Tirnovo.
After accommodation in our 3*+ cosy Hotel, walking tour of the city, visit the citadel and the nice small streets.
Dinner in the old city.
Day 3 Saturday: Departure to Plovdiv (150 km)
Departure over Shipka pass to Plovdiv, the roman city, nowadays a very well preserved medieval city, including the roman open theater where each year the Verdi Festival takes place.
On the way we will stop and visit the nice open village museum from Etara, lunch in the museum, the rosa valley and the old thracian thumb which lies in the capital of roses, Kazanlik. Visit of a rosa oil farm.
Arriving afternoon in Plovdiv, accommodation in a 4* Hotel, visit of the city, and specific bulgarian dinner and show.
Day 4 Sunday: Plovdiv - Varna - Balchik - Constanta
We depart in the morning towards Varna. We pass Varna by and stop around 80 km away in Balchik to visit the small and most interesting castle of Romanian queen Mary, and visit also its unique garden at the black sea beach.
Lunch in a small restaurant in Balchik and we continue to Constanta, the biggest city at black sea, and once a famous greek site. Here the roman poet Ovidiu was sent to exile and died asking for forgiveness and for love of its beloved Rome.
Visit of the city, the archeological museum, the roman mosaic, dinner and accommodation in a 4* Hotel.
Day 5 Monday: Constanta - Danube Delta (150km)
The "nature" peak of our excursion. We will arrive around noon, transfer to our boat Hotel who will start their cruise over Saint George channel to Black sea, and we will start our lunch on the boats. Around 20.00 we will reach Saint George, and have dinner on the boat.
Day 6 Tuesday: Danube Delta
After breakfast we start with the small motorboats to visit the Sahalin Islands and explore the zone where Danube is reaching the Black Sea. Around 15.00 we will return for a late lunch, and afternoon while we rest or have a coffee on the terasse the Hotel boat will take us to Perivolovca lake where we will overnight.
Dinner at 21.00 and after dinner activities
Day 7 Wednesday:
We depart very early in the morning by motor boats to see the sun rising from the lake, return to have breakfast on the boat Hotel. We depart with the boat Hotel towards the poppler forrest where we stop and have lunch.
Afternoon by motor boats we explore different small channel and for those who want they can have a try to fish pike.
Dinner with specific Danube Delta fish soup, and we can organize a firecamp aftewards.
Day 8 Thursday:
The Hotel boat depart towards Murighiol, and after lunch on the boat, we drive towards Bucharest.
During the morning cruise we can enjoy for the last time a journey with the motor boats in the small channels and lakes.
Departure by bus to Bucharest around 14:30 and arrival in Bucharest around 19:00. |
